The word discover means “find (something or someone) unexpectedly or in the course of a search. (Google)”. For a long time now I have known I would write about my travels and experiences. How does one think of a name to describe a year of traveling? Traveling filled with discovering places, food, beaches, hidden gems, world wonders, and most of all myself. I discovered things in my travels that people wait a lifetime for. So why not just go out there and find it myself? Find the teachers and teachings. Find what feeds my soul and what doesn’t. Find what truly makes me happy. Discover. I couldn’t think of a better word.

I was in search of things but in a way that I knew they would come to me. It was never one thing specifically. It was just the lifestyle. I was searching for a new version of myself in every person and destination. In every place, I felt like I discovered a new thing I loved or didn’t love. That's the journey. I could use the word discover a billion times and probably will because it is beautifully accurate for my journey. I have many stories to share of everything I went through, emotionally, physically, and mentally. Getting my heart broken, getting awfully sick in India, and bringing peace to my mind through yoga, are just a touch of the experiences I had.

It will take time and many words to truly get in-depth with the time I had out exploring the world. I plan to continue my travels forever. My all-time dream is to visit every country before I die. Discover new foods, culture, people, rivers, mountains, beaches, festivals, music, and more of my mind within.

If you're searching for the right moment to travel, stop searching for it. The time is now. There is no better time than now. Start searching and discovering the world and what it has to offer. Quit your job, sell your car, pack your shit, and go baby.

Traveling is my heart and soul. I have never been happier and see myself just getting happier and happier as the years go on. The world has so much to offer that all I do is crave to see it.

When you’re exploring the world you’re going to find yourself in it. In different places, different parts of you will begin to shine. It is just inevitable. Your friendliness will shine more and more. Patience is tested for many different things. You love as much as possible. You become money-conscious. You are forced to go with the flow. You learn to detach from people, places, and things. It is just a constant test of something. The outside world helps you realize what's within.

That is one of the most important parts of traveling–being open to change within and in the outside world. Discover new things to help you discover a new you. Day by day more will show. You’ll mature more about things or even become more childlike because nothing is ever that serious, except when your best friend loses her bag with her passport and wallet, then it’s serious.

Right now after my travels, I sit with some money in my bank account and a heart that longs for peace and travel. I plan on this always being a feeling I have to deal with. Be patient with the timing of the universe. It is going to be okay, you’ll start discovering more again.

Now that I am back in the States at my mom’s house I can see all of my lessons coming into play. Things are testing my patience and my peace. I am always being careful about spending my money. I am always smiling and say hello to anyone passing. I can focus on my yoga practice and have discipline. I can spread the joy and love with my family. I can talk about anything I saw or experienced while traveling. Everything I learned on the road is still coming into play in my life now.

The most important part of all is to keep discovering. Keep going, keep protecting your peace, keep finding joy and love in the people around you, keep discovering yourself, and never let anyone take you away from you.

I hope you enjoy my message of the things I have learned about the world and the lessons of being a nomad who is also only 21 years old. It is amazing to watch yourself transition from one person to another. This blog will tell all the stories that shaped me into being me.

I also hope to provide you with tips and tricks for being a traveler who is only human.

Keep Discovering,

Darby
